Every seat is a good seat in this small, intimate theater dedicated to dance. Nearly every dance company has filtered through the theater and with a season that lasts about 45 weeks, there's always a performance to see and tickets are very reasonably priced. I prefer a performance at The Joyce then at Lincoln Center any day.

I had been living in Brooklyn Heights for some time and Long Island Restaurant has been closed for as long as I could remember. Then one day, the sign was lit up and not long after the new owners had resurrected the spot with the promise to the previous owners the name and sign never changes. Order "A Martini" from the menu. It's divine. As are the french fries. They're double fried.

Born in 1983 in New Orleans, LA, Zoë Williams holds a BA in Fine Art from the University of New Orleans and a Certificate in Fiber Art from the University of Washington. Xinyi Shao is a visual designer based in Brooklyn, NY, specializing in brand identity, editorial design and research. Her work has been recognized and awarded by Core77 Awards, TDC, Graphis Awards, Communication Arts Awards, Creative Communication Awards, IDA Design Awards. Influenced by her former finance background, her emphasis on reasoning and precision has made her value research and process, which brings originality and depth to her work. Within a root in typography and interests in technology, she explores new ways of making according to the rapidly changing world and media environment. She holds an MFA in graphic design from ArtCenter College of Design and a BS from Southern University of Science and Technology.

Emma Brennan is a multi-disciplinary designer at frog. She investigates and prototypes with unique mediums to explore how they can produce new forms of communication and systems. Her work has ranged from designing technical data visualization tools to running workshops that support patients with postpartum depression. She's contributed to hybrid experiences, strategy, and product design for companies such as eBay, Data & Society, JPMorgan Chase, and AT&T. Previously, she built a design practice within the U.S. Census Bureau’s Innovation Lab. As a UX designer & Civic Digital Fellow, she helped develop programs, digital products and community engagement to ensure government services meet the needs of the public.
