Something that makes Bergen different from many Danish cities, is the continually lively area within the harbour. Fishing boats, offshore ships, military vessels, yachts and gigantic ocean cruisers always makes it an interesting destination for a trip on your bike or a relaxed afternoon stroll.

Comfortable bar where when the atmosphere is right can turn into a real party place. As all other bars and clubs in Bergen it shuts at 2.30 in the morning - too early I think.

One has to go the outskirts of Bergen to reach Sandviken Sjøbad (Sandviken Sea-bath), but its worth the travel as its location is in shelter for the wind as well as its free. In the perspective of a Landscape Architect its an interesting place with its level jumping and use of the materials, wood and concrete with the surrounding fells as a backdrop.

There isn't the greatest selection of take-away places in Bergen but Ichiban sells super fresh and well prepared sushi. They primarily focus on take-away, though there are a few seats within the premises. Note - closed on sundays.

The location of Bergen next to the sea and between seven fells makes it very convenient to explore nature. Stoltzekleiven is a steep journey 400m upwards. Look forward to the path which bares the nickname Lactic Acid. From the top there is the most amazing view, one can also easily reach the other fells on foot from here.
