Karama is one of the oldest areas of Dubai. It’s not properly maintained and has a bit more attitude than the heavily polished, bling buildings which cover the rest of the city. A wander around this area, a stop for some Indian curry and cheap shopping is a good afternoon activity.
Born in London, UK 1987, and having grown up in Dubai U.A.E, Sara Naim is of Syrian origin. She moved back to study at Chelsea College of Art and Design and completed her BA Photography from London College of Communication (2010). Directly after, Sara moved to New York to intern for Ryan McGinley, and since, has worked with photographers Peter Funch, Diana Scheunemann and Lyndsy Welgos.
Sara Naim has been in exhibitions in London, Dubai, Germany, New York City, and Guernsey, and has been featured on Vice, Dazed Digital, Dossier Journal, FFFFound, The Guardian, and Fast Company. Sara currently lives and works in Dubai.
