This place is one of my favourite secret spots in Lisbon. It is famous for its stunning formal gardens and 17th and 18th century decorative tiles with some of the country’s finest, depicting hunting, battles, and religious scenes, statuary and fountains. So let’s keep it as a secret between us.

Lapo is a designer working with illustration and cofounder of Wearecaptive Studio. The Luso-Brazilian artist has a refined style and an eye for detail, working mainly in black and white, using simple and beautifully crafted lines to tell a story. Lapo’s collections range from the Coração de Viana (Viana’s Hearts), in which she draws portraits of 14 residents from Viana do Castelo, to her latest ongoing projects about cities such as In Paris, a series of 25 drawings about life in the French capital and In Lisbon. Lapo has been awarded ADC Young Guns 9 from the Art Directors Club NY. Born in 1981 in Rio de Janeiro to Portuguese parents, the artist has lived between Brazil, Portugal and England and graduated from London’s Central Saint Martins University before moving to Lisbon, where she currently lives and works.
