Born in 1993, musical/sound artist Miyu HOSOI has been active in taking various artistic endeavors from creating the installations to bring awareness to the surrounding sound by using multichannel sound systems to the performing arts productions. She particularly is known for the overdubbing works using her own vocals. Her renowned work “Lenna” on 22.2 channels was presented at various places including NTT ICC Anechoic Room, YCAM, Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre Concert Hall and the Audio Engineering Society. She is the recipient of the New Face Award at the 23rd Japan Media Festival Art Division.
Hiroshi Takizawa is a Tokyo based photographer who graduated from Mejiro University Faculty of Human Sciences Department of Psychological Counseling in 2006. Recently Hiroshi was awarded the Tokyo Frontline Photo Award 2012. "The reason why I take pictures is probably due to my desire to know about the root of everything. Of course, there is always more than one essence to things, and opinions differ depending on where you stand.
However, there is only one truth. Perhaps, preparation and experience is required to accept this antinomy. It seems difficult to know the root of everything in this antinomy, but I will continue to compare the inside and outside in my works, based on the belief that everything is connected."
Hidemi Nishida is an artist currently based in Tokyo. His interest is "individual perception of the landscape". Nishida questions our milieu, deconstructing and adapting existing structures or materials or even whole landscapes in order to refresh our view of the world.
