Berlin / Music Venue

I came up with this music venue long time ago, I think through a blog in 2009. I used to check every week the concerts they had at that time at the very beginning when the West Germany avenue was still underground and almost unknown. I like it here because I always discover new music bands and of course because of the venue itself which is located in a former doctor’s office.

I am mad about the forest, the fog, the sea. There is an halo in the details that appear in my photographs. Nothing is casual in the silence of melancholy living in the mood I capture. My private life affects the shoot. I grew up in a volcanic island called Tenerife plenty of nature and energy. I came to Berlin in 2008 after finishing my Journalism Bachelor´s degree in Madrid, I also studied Photo Edition at the Ostkreuzschule in Berlin and nowadays I am working as photo editor and photographer.

Berlin / Airport

The Tempelhof Airport is now closed and they have transformed the landing field into a public park area. As soon as you go there you notice that usually you don't get to see that much sky in the city so entering this area for the first time is quite overwhelming. I especially love the old softball fields that have been built during the American occupation.

Berlin / Restaurant

It is a fine dessert dining. Unique full-on experience with dessert (no industrial sugar is used) course menu and pairing drinks. No wonder they have got a Michelin star!

Berlin / Art

New type of museum. It's a private collection from contemporary art pieces such as by Anish Kapoor or Nobuyoshi Araki to Chinese imperial furnitures or ancient Asian sculptures. The collection is wonderful and the light design is perfect. There is no description or title of the artworks - it invites you to purely see/feel the artworks themselves without influencing by the names. Must to go.

Berlin / Shop

If you like fashion then this is the place to be. The label was founded in 2005 by Nando and Silvia, two spanish designers. I like this place because I love the wool coats and the patterns they create. They support local industry and that is a top of the top for me.

Berlin / Other

Everyone knows Berlin is a mega party city, but it is not a generic type of party that is easily found in other cities. Berlin attracts a number or eccentric weirdos, and it is great to go people watching at nearly any venue within the city. This specific image reveals a dance party, featuring American Bounce musician Katey Red and her crew performing at Sudblock.
