This is Sandpiper bookshop in the North Laine. The North Laine is a very old residential and shopping area. the majority of shops, cafes and bars are independent and have been that way since I arrived almost 20 years ago. Sandpiper stock hundreds of current and out of print photo books at very competitive prices. Here i can gouge away....The music is ace too.

This is Marrocos Restaurant on the seafront towards Hove. It's a well kept secret by most Brightonian's. We dont like to share it as its small and precious. Besides great Pizza and Pasta and also incredible Seafood they make the very best Ice Cream in Brighton. I take my kids after school as the queues are crazy at the weekends. Try the Rum and Raisin....... or the Hazelnut.

Here I am in the South Downs. This spot is around 5 minutes drive from the centre of Brighton. You can see for miles.

Often I see people sitting on the beach alone, staring at the horizon in silence. Its expanse has a calming affect. It’s a place where life becomes simplified into clouds, waves, the odd seagull and sailboat.

I always feel I'm in a bar in European city when I come here, its cavernous but comforting at the same time. The pub is located right by London Road Station and is one of the few places I've found in Brighton that serves Murphys Irish stout and great cheesy chips.
