Trekroner fort is is a wonderful place, 15 minutes by boat from the city centre. The old fort is open to the public during the day, but only accessible from the water side. The current area was founded in 1786, but was not finished at the Battle of the Nest (April 2, 1801) or at the British bombardment in 1807. Between colony gardens in Amager lies one of my favourite local spots: Baghaven. Good food and cosiness is in the forefront. Various events with and without music gather people on the square at Diamantgangen 75. A very local experience. Great for families, children, young and old.

Christiania is a ‘must visit‘ in you are in Copenhagen. I personally like go for a walk , visit the many restaurants or coffeeshops, or explore ‘Den Grønne Hal’ for use construction materials. Photo: © Ture Andersen

My favorite gallery in Copenhagen, located in the meatpacking area... its great for spotting up and coming talents but also established artists from around the world.
