I am a filmmaker and photographer from London. In 2009 I exhibited my reportage America project 88 Days at Bloomsbury's Orange Dot Gallery. Having recently finished a 35mm 15-minute short, I am now writing a feature film.
I am also currently organising my next photographic exhibition, Sweet India, which I made last summer.
Seryoung An is an Artist and Visual Image Maker. She is interested in communicating and interacting with a large audience through her work.
Her projects start from a personal narrative that leads to visual narratives on paper. The scenes from the narratives she creates are usually a representation of herself and her experiences. She gets inspired from everyday objects in her surrounding world, the ongoing civilisation, current affairs and nature.
She creates books posters and stationery based on images made from hands-on techniques such as collage, linocut, watercolour painting, acrylic and gouache.
For the last six months, I have been a strange tourist in Munich. I came here to work in a studio and had not so much time to visit it properly. But I partly came in Germany because I was interested in its specific creative approach: it’s precision and rigorousity. In it’s system culture in a way. And indeed it’s a very intellectual society, ruled by color codes and order. It was definitely funny to see that these things are visible in many daily aspects of life.
Or maybe it’s just me wanting to see them... Very soon, I will move to London - where I would like to do some freelance work, in product, furniture and space design.
