Believe it or not, if you drive far enough from the city, the Yarra River is a beautiful place to spend a Summer’s day swimming. Warrandyte is a haven of shady gumtrees, flowing rapids, and rocks to perch yourself on while the water rushes past. Bring beers, but esky optional - the water is cool enough to keep them chilled all day.

I was born in 1989 in country NSW, Australia. Since graduating in 2010 with a Bachelor of Design, I live in Melbourne where I embark on self initiated projects - the most satisfying kind. Most of my exploration is within the fields of collage, illustration, animation and photography. Whilst in Melbourne I also work as a freelance designer to save dollars for overseas adventures. Coming home to Melbourne post-travel only reinforces my appreciation of this city.

Melbourne / Cafe

Melbourne is one of the coffee capitals of the world so the standard is very high. There are heaps of good cafes around, but sitting on top of the pile is at Brother Baba Budan. Specialists in single origin coffee from quality international coffee beans. When ever I’m in the city, this is where I get my caffeine fix. Usually it’s a smooth silky Caffe latte that goes down way too easily. The quirky ceiling made from chairs is worth a look too.

Premium restaurant & bar featuring oysters, caviar & hearty wood-fired mains, plus cocktails & wine. Great food and a beautiful building.

It’s only about ten meters above sea level, but for some reason it feels like you can see everything from the top of this hill. The 360 degree view spans from the city all the way across the bay and over the tree tops of the streets behind. I come up here to clear my mind and just to relax. Sunsets from here are amazing.

Fresh is best. The best place in Melbourne for fresh cheese. The Buffalo Mozzarella and the creamy Ricotta are to die for. I used to have to wait years and fly half way across the globe to my home in Italy just to bite into one of these creamy morsels of goodness. Now my life can be defined by the ‘pre La Latteria period’ and the ‘post La Latteria period’.

Besides being covered in the street art that is synonymous with Melbourne, the laneways also lead to some of the city’s best cafes, shops and restaurants, and are always worth taking time to explore.
