Johanna Goodman is an Artist and Illustrator whose work seeks to explore a range of themes in popular culture including the role of the individual in fashion, in history, and in the artistic imagination. Her work draws its inspiration from Magical Realism, Surrealism, and Symbolism and references such cultural artifacts as talismans, idols, and totems. I am an Illustrator and Graphic Designer in Brooklyn, New York. I was born in Calcutta, India and studied Electrical Engineering in college. After working for a decade as an Engineer as well as an Analyst/Programmer in Information Technology, with a not so secret passion for Architecture and Interior Design, I changed careers to find a job that was "more creative" and fulfilling. I went back to school in New York City to study and subsequently work as a graphic designer. Currently, I am pursuing Illustration full time out of my studio in Bushwick, Brooklyn.
