Manila / Restaurant

Toyo is one of my favorite restaurants in Manila. The shop is in the same compound as my studio, so I always bring my visiting friends here for dinner. The ambience is nice and the food is really really good. It's Filipino food in its essence, but done very differently.

Manila / Art

A dedicated space in Manila for contemporary art galleries, institutions, shops, restaurants, cafes and a design studio, along a wide, shaded garden hallway, The Alley is a quiet and relaxed place where you can sit outside from afternoon to evening over coffee and wine, catch a show, put up a show, meet a friend.

Rikuzentakata / Hotel

It's rare for tourists to go to the Tohoku (Northeast) Region of Japan except for Sendai (the capital). I've been there a couple of times for a design residency. It's good to use Rikuzentakata as the base. I highly recommend Hakoneyama Terrace. It has a nice view, they serve good food and the accommodation is good.

Tokyo / Cafe

This is my favorite go-to coffee shop in Tokyo. It's in a quiet and quaint space. I recommend trying their coffee and muffins. It's also right across a park and playground.

Tai Snaith is an artist and author living in Melbourne Australia. She wanders through different ideas and works them out in may different mediums including ceramics, collage, conversations and broadcasting. You may hear Tai's voice on local cult Melbourne radio station RRRfm (102.7) or read one of Tai's 6 picture books published by Thames and Hudson. Tai has a 30m long artwork inside the State Library of Victoria and soon to have a public sculpture on the Great Victorian Rail Trail. Paris-based artist Cassandre Montoriol’s traditional gouache drawings are the toast of the fashion publishing world. Daniel Zender is a freelance illustrator, designer, and printmaker living and working in Springfield, MO. His illustration work has been published by a number of magazines and books, including work in Communication Arts, HOW, 3x3, CMYK, and GoFish, and his poster work has been exhibited in international juried shows in Russia, Mexico, UK, France, Iran, and Chicago, where he received a bronze medal for his work with hand printed materials.
