Manila / Restaurant

Toyo is one of my favorite restaurants in Manila. The shop is in the same compound as my studio, so I always bring my visiting friends here for dinner. The ambience is nice and the food is really really good. It's Filipino food in its essence, but done very differently.

Manila / Art

A dedicated space in Manila for contemporary art galleries, institutions, shops, restaurants, cafes and a design studio, along a wide, shaded garden hallway, The Alley is a quiet and relaxed place where you can sit outside from afternoon to evening over coffee and wine, catch a show, put up a show, meet a friend.

Rikuzentakata / Hotel

It's rare for tourists to go to the Tohoku (Northeast) Region of Japan except for Sendai (the capital). I've been there a couple of times for a design residency. It's good to use Rikuzentakata as the base. I highly recommend Hakoneyama Terrace. It has a nice view, they serve good food and the accommodation is good.

Tokyo / Cafe

This is my favorite go-to coffee shop in Tokyo. It's in a quiet and quaint space. I recommend trying their coffee and muffins. It's also right across a park and playground.

Milan / Illustrator

My name is Laura Wood and I'm an independent illustrator. Originally from a small town in the north of Italy, I studied illustration in the wonderful city of Melbourne, Australia, where I started my illustration career. After a few years of seeking adventures and travelling around the world, I currently live and work in Milan, Italy. I create my art digitally using lots of textured brushes and a fun colour palette. Amongst my favourite things, there is dancing, meeting new people and visiting new places.

Lotta Nieminen is a multidisciplinary designer and illustrator from Helsinki, Finland. She has studied graphic design and illustration at the University of Art and Design Helsinki and the Rhode Island School of Design, and has worked as a freelancer in both fields since 2006. After working for fashion magazine Trendi in Finland andPentagram Design in New York, Lotta is now based in NYC, working for design studio RoAndCo. In 2010, Lotta received the Art Directors ClubYoung Guns 8 award and was selected by Print magazine for its annual New Visual Artists review, highlighting 20 international rising designers under the age of 30. Her work has also won honorable mentions at Vuoden Huiput (Best of Finnish advertising and graphic design) as well as in various logo competitions. She has illustrated for the likes of clients such as United Airlines,International Herald Tribune Magazine,Monocle and Bloomberg Businessweek. As an illustrator, Lotta is represented by illustration agency Agent Pekka.

Stuttgart / Artist

Christiana Teufel is a Stuttgart based artist and graphic designer. In her artistic research, she works with photographic / cinematic techniques of deconstruction, montage, abstraction and poetry to trace cultural techniques such as collective memory. Minet Kim is a visual artist and freelanced illustrator based in Seoul, South Korea. She was born and raised in South Korea, then moved to New York, received BFA from School of Visual Art and she is doing her MFA at Seoul National University in design. Minet honed the craft of her original illustration practice. As well as refining her skill in terms of technical artistry, Minet also explores philosophical concepts. Her experimental approach to visual language features layering of her daily life impressions. @withminet
