Cashbox is a chained karaoke business. Unlike the karaoke in Europe, usually located in pubs, for people who are brave enough to sing in front of other strangers. In Cashbox, we show up as a group of friends, we have our own room with screen, computer, and microphones. We order whatever songs we like from the computer, then the music videos show up on the screen and we sing along! It’s a great place for relieving pressure.

My favorite cafe in Taipei. For friends gathering, gossiping, discussing, it is more about just having a lunch. The meals are wonderful. I cannot remember how many times I sat here.

The Sanzhi UFO houses were abandoned buildings in Sanzhi District, the place described as a ghost town and were torn down by the government in late 2008. I was fortune to visit there once with my uni friends in time. One of the most surreal place I have ever been... what a shame the buildings are all gone now.

It might be a bit exaggerated to compare it with central park, but it is also a green space in the city centre. (Just a bit smaller.) It’s around my neighborhood, again, so I have a lot of childhood memories with it. I remember teachers from elementary school always brought us there, for field trip, which is only one block away. And I also had my graduation photos taken there. Nowadays, I go back for jogging often.

While I am in Taipei, Taipei Fine Art Museum is one of the places that I go most frequently. Well, not only because it’s not far from where I live by scooter, but also because it’s really cheap! (The entrance fee is about 60p.) And, of course, despite the political scandal, the exhibitions are always diverse and interesting, and it has great library in the basement. On top of that, after my solo show, some of the staffs and I became friends. So, 60p for great exhibitions, free books and hanging out with friends, why not?
