I struggle with eating out in Vancouver, generally I prefer the burrito style places like Bandidas Taqueria on Commercial drive or Budgies Burritos on Kingsway, because they can keep it mellow and hassle free. Pronto is a new one, it has a great Italian coffee bar from the 60’s vibe.

Fupper is Simon Hughes, a musician from London currently living in Vancouver, BC, Canada. The latest Fupper release is “Foreign Bodies”; it is his 18th album in 20 years. The music sounds like an electronic Moondog with luscious guitars, harmonized vocals, spoken word, lyrics of streaming consciousness, found sounds and field recordings. “I have given a list of some of my favorite Vancouver haunts. Besides these, drink in the nature and get wet.”

I've always had a thing for bridges. It is something with the way they connect the known with the unknown and spans across vast distances. When I was new in Vancouver I worked for a while in a deli downtown. I used to walk across Granville bridge every night with the city glittering into the water all around me. Just beautiful!

Locally designed stationary and text-based things! Regional Assembly of Text is a gift shop that also has its own letter writing club (free typewriter parties!) and a little cozy nook named 'lowercase gallery' which features a library of handmade art books and zines!

The ultimate outdoor swimming pool of all pools! Open only during the summer season, Kits pool is a turquoise glory, spanning 137 metres wide! (it is Canada's longest pool) It also has a spectacular view of the mountains, beach, and the skyline.

Despite the stigma that surrounds East Vancouver, the alleys are often adorned with amazingly colourful offerings. I find it very inspiring to take a stroll through a select few and pick out literary scrawling, graffiti, and the layers of vibrant history that cover the walls.

Catalog Gallery consistently exhibits amazing art spanning genre and style. It’s one of my favourite galleries in the city, and always has a surprise in store. You can’t find the kind of work it presents anywhere else in Vancouver.
