About Kim
My work can be described as a body of research in which different moments in time and space run together in a field that seems to embody a determination of time to present proof of it’s discrete, unique moments. I create stories that rise around the system of time and space. I’m fascinated by the systems that exist behind the direct surface of the visual world.

Amsterdam is at it’s best when it is covered in a thick layer fresh fallen snow, I like to go out at night and wander through one of the parks, to experience this beautiful metamorphosis of a city landscape.

Ever since I was a little girl, I wanted to become an illustrator. The first time my parents asked what I wanted to be when I grew up I said; 'tekenares' (this is the Dutch word for a draughtswoman). I wasn't familiar with the term illustrator yet, but I was sure that's what I wanted to be. Now, twenty years later, I'm working as a freelance illustrator based in Amsterdam. I've been living here for over 5 years, and I'm still in love with the city.

I am a graphic designer based in Amsterdam. My work is conceptual as well as intuitive. I try to tell stories with my works, and to get the viewer into a contemplative state of mind. I believe in a refined way of designing, in which materials and typography are important elements. I like to wander and I'm curious about almost everything.
