Whenever I feel uninspired I visit the (now genericly named) Design Museum, formerly known as Kunstindustrimuseet. Sort of the V&A of Copenhagen. An old museum filled with gorgeus fabrics, weird artifacts and a cozy library filled with books about arts & crafts from around the world. If you’re still uninspired after a visit here you’re not able to. Don’t forget to have lunch in the beautiful center garden surrounding by the overgrown buildings, statues and old trees.

Anders Arhøj is an illustrator and product designer heading the Copenhagen based studio Arhøj, founded in 2005. The studio works on a myriad of projects from character design, interiors, fabric prints, publications to concept ideas and styling.

Copenhagen / Shop

For wine purchasing a good place is Rosforth & Rosforth. Even better is the location, under the knippelsbro bridge, very hidden. Also nice for their professionally pleasant service and knowledge. And also for the interior.

Copenhagen / Cinema

The Cinema Byen’s Lys in Christinia is the best cinema in town. A must see, but they are only open on Sundays at 20 o’clock and no-one knows what they will show, but no matter what, it is worth a visit. The cinema doesn’t have an address but its next to a café called Månefiskeren, and then ask from there.

Copenhagen / Beach

As the summer is my favorite time of the year and that the beach is just 15 min bikeride away, I recommend Amager strand. Full of people usually though, but even so it gives a bit of an exotic touch to such a scandinavian city with the sea and the bright sand in the hot summer days.

Copenhagen / Place

A Kilometer stone (circa 1925) stands directly outside Nørreport station, in Copenhagen K. It's easy to pass by, but definitely worth noting if you're in the area — The typographic work on it is incredible.

Copenhagen / Bridge

This bridge leads from the center to Christianshavn and Amager. Christianshavn is a really sweet and old area, with a canal with lots of boats, nice restaurants and cafes. Right next to Christianshavn is the Freetown Christiania.
