The Wellcome Collection is a free museum and library, mostly dealing with medecine and social history. The exhibitions are unusual and engaging, and the permanent collection includes bizarre items such as medieval masks and human remains.

Present is a menswear shop with an award-wining espresso stand inside. They also stock books, cool magazines I’ve never heard of, and random things like soap and tins of shoe polish. I like to buy bags here.

The Premises is cozy café attached to a recording studio in Hackney (frequented by Nina Simone, Al Green and Jarvis Cocker over the years.) Lovely people serve up tasty breakfasts and Turkish food in the evening.

Although her earlier music is almost exclusively electronic and organic in nature, in recent years she has incorporated classical orchestration into her work for dance, film, theatre, opera and installations. Mira Calix is currently working on an album with singer/songwriter Malcolm Middleton and working Nothing Is Set In Stone, a musical sculpture for Hidden London , commissioned by The Mayor Of London, for the London 2012 festival
