This is the place you want to go to have a awesome brunch. Be prepared for a waiting line outside on the weekends. The place is packed then. My personal favorites is the Polenta with Maple syrup, bacon, spinach and chicken apple sausage. If you had a rough night before I would suggest the “Hangover Helper”, with the bottomless fresh mint-lemonade. Always does the trick.

Dutch born photographer Gijs van der Most is based in Los Angeles. Since he switched Amsterdam for Los Angeles about two years ago, he’s been quickly becoming a favorite in the downtown Los Angeles photography scene. Gijs’ photography is direct, personal, and sometimes with a little wink. He’s fascinated by people, their behavior and their environment. His documentary projects include “Used Car Salesmen”, “Yard Sales”, “Sign Jugglers”, and his most recent project ” I ♥ Runyon Canyon”. Even though Van der Most works are displayed in series, he doesn’t waste a single image. Gijs has co-created the blog “van der THIS! “, with his comedian/writer wife Michelle Buteau fusing the photography and comedy world into a miniseries that is eye catching as well as entertaining. The Day of Death is one of the most amazing experience you can get from a city like LA. Every year, during the week-end of Halloween, the Hollywood Cemetery becames the stage of the most candid and beautiful celebration of life and death I ever seen.

The Smell is a non-profit, all-ages music venue who's run the gamut of completely rad and completely shitty acts, but is doubtlessly an interesting and worthy place to use up a pair of earplugs. After all, it's not everyday you see a dude shred his fucking face apart playing an amplified shard of glass! The Smell is a little difficult to find, but when you hit the dark alley in which it resides -- and which every fiber of your being tells you will be host to your mugging -- just clutch your purse, keep your chin up and head straight down until you run into a grip of hipsters in a haze of smoke, donning asymmetrical haircuts, and one-too-many animal prints, and you're there! It's alcohol-free, so make sure you either drink before you arrive, or head out between acts to one of a couple local bars to sauce up!

One of my favorite local record stores. They stock over 15,000-20,000 LP’s and 12" singles and have a great selection. I usually stick to the left side of the shop where soul, disco, and international records are.
