Grace Danico is a Filipino-American illustrator, designer, and archivist from Los Angeles, California. She art directs Acid Free, a quarterly magazine published by the Los Angeles Archivists Collective, and curates a regular Spotify playlist called Take Care. Yes- I'm going to anger some people by sharing this hidden gem with you. It is very special and I expect hate mail. They have been serving Japanese comfort food since the late 60's and is the last gasp of a neighborhood in Boyle Heights that was once predominantly Japanese. No frills. Just a warm and loving environment- a place to escape and eat spicy tuna rice bowls and sip miso with your Japanese Grandmother. Shhh, don't tell anyone.

LA wouldn't be LA without its Freeways. The Golden State Freeway is one of the most familiar places I have. It's my studio, living room, and kitchen all togheter. I can eat a sandwich, make phone calls and check my emails on the go, and even read the newspaper when it's jammed, basically all the time.
