The owners of the very popular and charming cafe Liebling are these days opening a second place around the corner. It´s named after a popular children’s song, Kanskje kommer kongen ( Maybe the king will come). Lovely as they are, they want to unite the city’s young population with the elderly by running a cafe inside a retirement home. What´s not to like, I think the king should come!

Norwegian photographer Anja Niemi, ( b. 1976 ) is represented by the Little Black Gallery in London but lives and works from Oslo. Her two latest series Starlets and Do Not Disturb set her distinct self portrait style. Joining tragedy with humor in a staged narrative setting, she presents a series of tragic-comic personas from tormented suburban housewives to roller disco divas.

Oslo / Bar

Excellent bar, nice music in warm red interior (with original Pushwagner on the wall). It´s small and usually full, but somehow I always get a table quickly.

Oslo / Gallery

Design and Architecture centre in Oslo. They have some quite cool professional exhibitions here as well as student graduate exhibitions. It’s a really nice building (which you would kind of expect) right next to the river that divides the east and west of Oslo.

Is a couple of minutes walk from my apartment. It’s a little waterfall that is part of the Lysaker River, which defines the south western border of Oslo. I think it’s just as beautiful in the summer as winter. I love the fact that there are so many places in Oslo where you really feel close to nature. This place makes me feel good.

Very nice record shop, with a good selection of records, and some books and merch. Very friendly staff who likes helping visitors find music they might like.

Oslo / Place

It's Oslos most popular sledging slope. It’s existed since 1900 and is 2000 metres long with a fall of 255 metres. You can rent a sledge at the top and my record down it is about 6 minutes. There’s no better place for making you feel like a little kid again!
