Mari Kanstad Johnsen is an artist and freelance illustrator based in Oslo. She has a Bachelor in Visual Communication from the National Academy of Arts in Oslo as well as an MA in storytelling from Konstfack in Stockholm. Lately she has been involved in illustrating children books.

Strangest second hand store in Oslo, run by two blind elderly ladies, and only open on Mondays and Thursdays. The store is tiny and crammed, you can do a scoop, but the prices are fairy unpredictable, the ladies have a very independent pricing-system.

Is a fantastic little street in the middle of town. Its colourful little workers cottages (from the late 18th and early 19th century) really stand out from the rest of Oslo’s architecture. A cute, warm and cozy street that makes me happy.

Almost definitely the best kebabs in town. They have a newspaper article on the wall that claims that a guy that lives about 8 hours away travels into Oslo just to eat their kebabs☺. Smells a bit funny outside sometimes though…
