An article in 2007 reported that practicing vampires live underneath the streets of Springfield. So, maybe you shouldn't actually get into the tunnels, but it is fun to look in the tunnels and get really freaked out.

My favorite bar! Loud Rock N' Roll all week, cheap covers, delicious beers in bottles and on tap. The Outland is usually packed on Fridays and Saturdays, but during the week it is pretty relaxed. Its a great dive bar with a beautiful history, and great decor.

Cheep, delicious chili, burgers, and snacks. Not a contender for best food in town, but the best environment , maybe anywhere. It has been open for a while...walking in feels like stepping back about 50 years, its great. It is only open Fall-Spring, dont even try in the summer.

See the newly renovated square, designed by famous landscape architect Lawrence Halprin. The square is good place to start exploring Springfield. It is right on Route 66, and each direction offers all sorts of stores, restaurants, historic landmarks and bars to check out. Wild Bill Hickok shot someone here!
