Hiroshi Takizawa is a Tokyo based photographer who graduated from Mejiro University Faculty of Human Sciences Department of Psychological Counseling in 2006. Recently Hiroshi was awarded the Tokyo Frontline Photo Award 2012. “The reason why I take pictures is probably due to my desire to know about the root of everything. Of course, there is always more than one essence to things, and opinions differ depending on where you stand. However, there is only one truth. Perhaps, preparation and experience is required to accept this antinomy. It seems difficult to know the root of everything in this antinomy, but I will continue to compare the inside and outside in my works, based on the belief that everything is connected.”

Tokyo / Hotel

Staying with DDD, a renovated boutique hotel introduced me to the Nihonbashi area where there is full of beautiful contrast between historic and modern cultures. Really enjoy the convenience of the location. The room is electrically designed that is so warm and cozy. The in-house gallery and cafe are also worth checking!

If you are into "Midnight Diner"-esque night experience but not into a crowded Shinjuku scale, then this is a good alternative. Smaller and much more laid back.

This well in Meiji jingu is called "the power spots" from people recently. It was made by the military commander Kiyomasa Kato. It is not been dry from the Edo Period till today. So it is said that the well has good luck. People set up the photo of the well on their screen saver. Of course also me.

A little island/beach community in Kanagawa, which is about an hour away from downtown of Tokyo by train. The beach there is really dirty but I love the place. I used to work at the radio station by Enoshima as an assistant DJ. After the recording, I hopped on the train to go see the beach pretty often.

The Tokyo Tower is a symbol of Tokyo, and also it's sending electromagnetic waves such as television waves. In other words, if it wasn't for this tower Japan wouldn't be enlightened with important news and truth from the outside world. At 332.5 metres, it is the second tallest artificial structure in Japan.
