I’ve always had a thing for bridges. It is something with the way they connect the known with the unknown and spans across vast distances. When I was new in Vancouver I worked for a while in a deli downtown. I used to walk across Granville bridge every night with the city glittering into the water all around me. Just beautiful!

After graduating from Beckmans Collage of Design in Stockholm, he worked with set design and some interior design projects before setting out on a one-year inspirational journey to Vancouver. The ultimate outdoor swimming pool of all pools! Open only during the summer season, Kits pool is a turquoise glory, spanning 137 metres wide! (it is Canada's longest pool) It also has a spectacular view of the mountains, beach, and the skyline.

A little sanctuary for me. I come in here once a week and look around and touch the records and ponder and rarely (sorry to say this) buy anything! I bet they have a nickname for me….

This theatre has a real genuine feeling that is hard to come across in Sweden nowadays. Shows a selection of the best and most current titles. With a huge bucket of popcorn, and the discount for all on Tuesdays, this place really helps to brighten up the dullest day of the week.

One of those comic shops that just have it right. Good selection, room at the back for exhibitions and talks, small selection of music for sale. I got hooked on “Big Questions” by Anders Nilsen, and he came in for a signing in the summer, I had no idea, just popped by and there he was. I’m holding onto the 90’s and this place has it.

Vancouver / Cafe

I struggle with eating out in Vancouver, generally I prefer the burrito style places like Bandidas Taqueria on Commercial drive or Budgies Burritos on Kingsway, because they can keep it mellow and hassle free. Pronto is a new one, it has a great Italian coffee bar from the 60’s vibe.
