I’ve always had a thing for bridges. It is something with the way they connect the known with the unknown and spans across vast distances. When I was new in Vancouver I worked for a while in a deli downtown. I used to walk across Granville bridge every night with the city glittering into the water all around me. Just beautiful!

Hannes is a product and interior designer born and raised in Gothenburg, Sweden. After graduating from Beckmans Collage of Design in Stockholm, he worked with set design and some interior design projects before setting out on a one-year inspirational journey to Vancouver. What every coastal town should have! From time to time I get these serious cravings for fast food, yet, I don’t really like when it gets to greasy. That is why I love Go Fish! Go there on a sunny day and just dig in to a pile of freshly deep fried cod and crispy chips, while dangling your feet from the dock.

Straight underneath the bridge lies this charming little island that houses some of my favourite restaurants, such as the Sandbar and the yellow Bridges. Among all the things here you can also find a theatre, a brewery, a public food market and of course the Emily Carr university.

This quaint, cottage-cozy cafe is the perfect place to go with your bestie for a cup of coffee and tasty treats. I highly recommend their fresh baguette sandwiches-the pear one (with blue brie, prosciutto & roasted walnuts) is my favourite!
