Is a quarter in the district of Hamburg-Mitte and is located on the Elbe river island. It’s a futuristic, postmodern and the largest rebuilding project in Europe of city-planning where the old port warehouses are being replaced with offices, hotels, shops, offical buildings and residential areas. The Elbphilhamonie is a concert hall under construction and one of the main parts of HafenCity. It’s designed by Herzog / de Meuron and will be the highest inhabited building of Hamburg.

Sarah Bernhard lives in Hamburg where she works as an account planner in an advertising agency and a free-time photographer. 2008 she graduated from university having received an M.A. with distinction in Political Science. From 2009 to 2010 she travelled several times to China, doing researches about the chinese civil society and photographing the everyday life in Shanghai, Beijing and Chengdu.

This is a pretty nice vinyl record store specialized in finding and trading rare vinyl and special CD Editions. I bought most of my minimal/house records there. But it's also fun browsing through huge collections of old soul/funk/hip hop records.

LYS Vintage- Hamburg. I highly recommend a visit to this place! I've long been obsessed with the Scandinavian aesthetic, and even if you can't afford what's on the shelves, just looking is a treat. Brands: String, HAY, Muuto, ferm, normann copenhagen..

This is yone of the city's best coffee spots. The café has a lovely warm and laid-back atmosphere. On Sundays i get the vegan breakfast there, with fresh vegetables and fruits and i love to stay for some hours reading or working (they have free w-lan there).

If you want to leave the city and breathe in some fresh air, just buy a "Schleswig Holstein Ticket" and go by train to Travemünde. A borough of Lübeck about 1,5 hours away from Hamburg and located next to the sea. It has been a seaside resort since 1802 and has still some architecture, signs and symbols from the 19th century to show.
