Everyone should visit this absurd restaurant once in their lifetime. Its over-priced, mediocre food but the decor and ambiance is like nothing else in theatrics and campery. You are met on arrival by a white velour ‘napkin’ artfully screwed up on your diner plate. Absorbent, not? Fabulously awful, yes.

Julie Verhoeven is an artist and designer based in London. After studying fashion she began her career assisting John Galliano before working in the fashion industry as a designer, illustrator, creative director and tutor. Verhoeven’s own fashion label, Gibo by Julie Verhoeven, was launched in September 2002, and she went on to collaborate with global brands including, Louis Vuitton, Versace, Mulberry and H&M. Verhoeven has exhibited internationally since 2003, including solo shows at MU, Eindhoven, ZINGERpresents, Amsterdam, and Vera Gliem, Cologne with the publication of 3 books dedicated to her work, ‘A Bit of Rough’, ‘Fat- Bottomed Girls’ and ‘Julie Verhoeven, Gas Book 13’. The Thai food scene in London is in an incredible place right now, with the likes of The Smoking Goat, Som Saa, The Begging Bowl and Farang all offering an experimental and delicious take on the cuisine. I'm focusing on the later a) because it's my local and b) because it's helmed by Seb Holmes, who's also cheffed at those others mentioned, and has managed to bring the best of all of them to Farang. Oh and c) the Gai Prik is probably the tastiest dish in London

Camden Passage is a picturesque street filled with antique, vintage and contemporary shops.

Quinto sells second-hand books. I spend a lot of time here and have found some inspiring books over the years, both at Quinto and the other shops on this road. Koenig Books on the corner is good for art books, too.

One or two screenings a day, a few days a week; less is more at Close Up. The library is a great resource too, for work or pleasure.
