Caffè Italia is an institution in town and was the first Italian café to open in Montréal in 1956. The decor probably hasn’t changed much since then. Definitely one of my top favourite places in Montreal. Their panini is worth the detour - I have rarely had such a great one, probably the best in town, if not of the whole province !

Montreal / Monument

This is the one of the largest monuments to Montreal's Catholic history. This photo is of my favourite spot in the oratory; a little green chapel filled with crutches from people who came to the oratory on pilgrimage.

The Montreal metro opened in 1966, right before the city hosted the world expo in 1967. The metro system is one of the most visible legacies of this time, filled with Modernist architecture and design. The trains are on big rubber tires and it's warm in the winter.

Pullman is the place to share very good food with friends until very late... the wine card is just fantastic! Full of discoveries... oxidative wines (Jura and other countries), orange wines and private importation from the Vesuvius in Italy or even from the Canary Islands... CRAZY!!!
