Hilary Greenbaum is a New York-based graphic designer and design writer. Currently a staff designer and columnist at The New York Times Magazine, she studied design at the California Institute of the Arts (MFA 2006) and Carnegie Mellon University (BFA 2001). Her work has been recognized by the Society of Publication Designers, the Type Directors Club, the Art Directors Club, the AIGA, the Society for News Design and the Output Foundation.

This quaint shop boasts an artfully arranged and tastefully curated selection of jewelry, pottery, books and art. I have to keep myself from going there too often, because I have trouble leaving without making a purchase.

The exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art can speak for themselves, but the Sculpture Garden there is the best backyard in the city.

Nothing is more quintessentially New York than a diner. This eatery not only serves excellent, traditional diner fare, but does so in an eclectic environment that mixes Baroque decadence with Midtown grit.

Being on the ground floor of the building I work in, this Japanese outpost serves as my everything store. I appreciate their minimalist aesthetic coupled with their modest pricing.

I am currently VP Creative Production at Chobani, where I am shaping the in-house agency model of the future. On my free time, I write poetry and film scripts (currently working on a script about my families immigration story and escape from a civil war). My work has been recognized at award shows such as Cannes, D&AD, One Show, ADC and the FWA, and featured in publications such as Fast Company, Rolling Stone, The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times.
