Spencer Wohlrab is elongate, legless, carnivorous reptiles of the suborder Serpentes which can be distinguished from a legless lizard by his lack of eyelids and external ears. Like all squamates, Spencer is ectothermic, amniote vertebrates covered in overlapping scales. To accommodate his narrow body, Spencer’s paired organs (such as kidneys) appear one in front of the other instead of side by side, and most have only one functional lung.

This is a great day-trip in the summer and early fall. The dunes make the beach feel secluded and the empty houses at the old army-base makes you feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere. I discovered the Frick my first week in New York, during a heat wave in August. The galleries were surprisingly empty, with only the occasional visitor strolling through the rooms, gently creaking the floorboards. I stood for a while in front of the Bronzino, a portrait of a boy standing against a background of green drapery, and then sat in the courtyard for a long, cool hour.
