Zoë Williams creates otherworldly creatures that are inspired by dreams, visions, and the collective unconscious. Born in 1983 in New Orleans, LA, Zoë Williams holds a BA in Fine Art from the University of New Orleans and a Certificate in Fiber Art from the University of Washington. I can’t get enough of the dioramas, but my favorite parts of the AMNH are the Halls of Meteorites and Minerals. There are some beautiful specimens here, and best of all you can actually lay your hands on the 4.5-billion-year-old Cape York Meteorite.

This outpost of Seattle coffee is an excellent place to get your morning cappuccino, afternoon macchiato, or just some beans to take home. I lived in Seattle for 6 years before moving to New York and at first I was afraid the coffee here wouldn’t measure up, but lucky for me there are plenty of great places. Picking a favorite wasn’t easy!

Make sure you know the size of your party when you arrive, or the formidable looking bouncer may give you a hard time at the door (they prefer no standing inside, all parties must be seated), but once you’re in, the drinks are fantastic and the staff is friendly and accommodating. In addition to cocktails, Pouring Ribbons features an impressive selection of Chartreuse.

Tucked away on the second floor, it’s easy to forget you’re in the middle of Manhattan. Order the Ika geso (squid legs) and the nankotsu (chicken cartilage), my personal favorites. You might notice people waiting around a nondescript door inside the restaurant; this is actually the entrance to the speakeasy bar Angel’s Share.

Dead Horse Bay is about an hour and a half from lower Manhattan by public transit, but well worth the journey. There is so much glass on the beach that the waves make a soft tinkling sound as they roll in. It’s a scavenger’s dream, and glass isn’t the only thing you’ll find here. There are still plenty of horse bones to remind you where the place gets its name.

Kent Rogowski is an artist/photographer living and working in Brooklyn, NY. Kent’s works are often provocative and whimsical manipulations of objects and images that surround us in our daily lives. From teddy bears to jigsaw puzzles and self-help books, he uses and alters mass-produced consumer products as a vehicle for self-expression. By transforming the generic into something personal, Kent questions what these products communicate, and also what role they play in our culture. His first monograph, Bears, was published by powerHouse books in 2007. He has shown his work both nationally and internationally with solo shows in New York at the Jen Bekman Gallery and the Foley Gallery and the In Focus Gallery in Cologne, Germany. In 2000, Kent received his MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design, where he is now a Senior Critic. He has also taught at The Pratt Institute and The School of Visual Arts in New York.

Prior to consulting, Clemence was leading the marketing efforts and digital content of tech start-up, Splacer. Nate is an Animation Director and Designer in NYC. His films which are at turns ethereal and poetic and then scientific and biographical, bring the intangible into focus. His short film Eli is playing at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival, he has directed and executive produced an animated series for Facebook Watch, along with pieces for HBO, Adult Swim and NPR. Four of his short films are Vimeo Staff Picks. He is currently developing content for short and long form. Nate lives in Brooklyn.
