One of those comic shops that just have it right. Good selection, room at the back for exhibitions and talks, small selection of music for sale. I got hooked on “Big Questions” by Anders Nilsen, and he came in for a signing in the summer, I had no idea, just popped by and there he was. I’m holding onto the 90’s and this place has it.

This pub offers good ambiance, good food, great music, and nice staff. They also serve the best pint of black lager in town and to top it all off, there are no TV’s to distract from conversations among friends.

1067 is one of the best music venues in Vancouver, playing host to experimental jazz and other electro-acoustic offerings. It is underground in every sense of the word, hidden in an alley behind an unmarked door (aside from the faintest scribbling of the address in the top right corner). $5 and a ring on a hidden buzzer gets you in to this amazing spot through a labyrinth of stairs and hallways.

Straight underneath the bridge lies this charming little island that houses some of my favourite restaurants, such as the Sandbar and the yellow Bridges. Among all the things here you can also find a theatre, a brewery, a public food market and of course the Emily Carr university.

What every coastal town should have! From time to time I get these serious cravings for fast food, yet, I don’t really like when it gets to greasy. That is why I love Go Fish! Go there on a sunny day and just dig in to a pile of freshly deep fried cod and crispy chips, while dangling your feet from the dock.
