Rixdorf is definitely my favourite area of Berlin, because it is a historic village within in Berlin. At the moment it is under heavy construction, and I found this strange, nearly taken-down building sitting in the middle of the quaint neighbourhood.

Jen Osborne is a Canadian photographer whose work has been published and exhibited internationally. She was raised on Vancouver Island, in small-town Courtenay. Her career as a photographer was started by a yearlong work contract with Fabrica, the United COLORS of Benetton Research Centre, in 2008. Jennifer has an interest in portraying people who feel a need to escape. Jennifer has exhibited in group shows at various venues including: Arles 2010, Aperture Gallery, The Museum de l’Elysée, Studio La Città, Azzedine Alaïa, Art Basel Miami, Catalog Gallery and CarréRotondes. She was named one of Canada’s top emerging photographers in both 2010 and 2011 by the Magenta Foundation. Jen is also a part of the ReGeneration2 book publication and traveling exhibition. In 2012, she was the recipient of the Pride Photo Award under the “Chameleons” category for her work in Vancouver, Canada, and she placed 2nd in Photovisa IV’s “The Face” competition. Jen currently resides in Berlin, Germany, where she continues to work as a freelance photographer and produces personal work.

Floating University Berlin is a self organized space and group, where practitioners from a wide range of backgrounds meet to collaborate, co-create and imaginatively work towards futures. It defines itself as “A Natureculture learning site” investigating alternative narratives for urban development. I am totally in love with this place!!!

Berlin / Music Venue

Tuesday's lunch hour tip is the amazing Berlin Philarmonic. A short-duration concert (around an hour) happens every Tuesday at 13h, for free. People make the Philarmonie's foyer full, sitting on the stairs, on the ground and everywhere around. Little advice: bring with you a little cushion for more comfort and try to arrive early to find the good spots.

Beautiful atellier-stores around weserstrasse, this is from a very nice girl that make "sculpure hats" as she said. Excellent record store across the street also.

Berlin / Restaurant

One of the best falafels in the city. And really cool interior, just look at that chandelier. Perfect place for Saturday lunch.

Berlin / Airport

The Tempelhof Airport is now closed and they have transformed the landing field into a public park area. As soon as you go there you notice that usually you don't get to see that much sky in the city so entering this area for the first time is quite overwhelming. I especially love the old softball fields that have been built during the American occupation.
