For the first time in Manhattan we lived on 14th street – this nice and cozy café around the corner (on 16th) still is our favorite place for delicious breakfast or brunch… Think they have tons of meals on their menu, quite affordable for huge portions.. Plus, good music.

I’m Verena Michelitsch, an independent designer and art director from Austria by way of New York City. I keep going there when I miss my friend Aggeliki. We meet on the line waiting to watch Martha Marcy May Marlene. I just arrived in NYC, I remember we both were in the same situation. We became very close since that day.

Chillhouse is awesome. It's a great place to chill out while waiting to meet a friend, read a book, or get your nails done. This all-in-one cafe has made it easy for the girl on the girl that needs some self-care time.

The Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms Park is a four-acre memorial to Franklin D. Roosevelt designed by Louis Kahn that celebrates the Four Freedoms Roosevelt articulated in his 1941 State of the Union address.

This is my local spot and one of my bad habits. The bartenders make sure I don't do anything to embarrassing and its full of regulars. Has dangerously replaced my living room. It's one of the only real dive bars on Smith street. Layers of funkiness help keep away the frat boys and bachelorette parties. Never closes before 4am so all the other neighborhood bartenders, cooks, and waiters stop by after work. Needless to say that only the best business decisions get made here!

Hands down the best wood fire pizza I've had in Brooklyn. Great for a date or if you're feeling fancy schmancy. (Also, don't sleep on the caesar salad here.)
